Blizzard also sells "virtual tickets" for $50 which lets you watch the event live, replays of the presentations and some in-game loot which signals to your other players that you are a True Blizzard Fan. BlizzCon is, and is marketed as, an exclusive event for Blizzard announcements. Still, Blizzard isn't entirely blameless here. But the fact that Blizzard decided against acknowledging this at BlizzCon by just saying "Hey, 'Diablo IV' exists and we're working on it" is somehow a huge slap in the face to Diablo fans. The fans know that "Diablo IV" is currently under development. In some ways, it is yet another instance of fan entitlement turned sour.

To complicate matters, today, Kotaku's Jason Schreier reports that Blizzard was, initially, going to announce "Diablo IV" but decided against it at the last minute. Kotaku's Nathon Grayson did a commendable job of trying to pull together all the various threads of "Diablo: Immortal" gamer umbrage into a single story, but basically: Fans were expecting an announcement for "Diablo IV" and instead got one for a mobile-only game developed by third-party developer NetEase. This has made some fans very, very upset. It looks like, well, "Diablo III" reimagined for your phone.
